The technical brilliance of BMW's M6 was slightly eclipsed by the closely related M5, which achieves similar physics-defying performance with a marginally more impressive quota of 2 extra doors. Now in an attempt to really get noticed, BMW has whipped the top off the M6, delving deep into their materials drawers in the process to ensure that the car's perfect weight distribution isn't thrown off by the complex hood engineering. Thermoplastic body panels and carbon fibre bumpers reduce bulk, ultra-large 19" wheels add style, and the triple-lined hood gives the interior the muted ambience of the coupé, only to be rent asunder by the howl from the quad exhaust pipes.
